Lenten season: Ondo Lawmaker, Ifabiyi Asks Christians to Pray for Authorities in Nigeria

An Ondo State House of Assembly member, Hon Ifabiyi Olatunji (JP),has enjoined Christians in the country to explore 2025 lenten season to pray for  Nigeria and its authorities in its quest for peace,unity and economic stability.


It would be recall that Christians across the world yesterday, observed Ash Wednesday which marks the beginning of lenten season of every year's holy month.


Hon Ifabiyi who is a current lawmaker representing Odigbo state constituency 1 at the state's hallow chamber, also urged christians in Ondo State to pray for the new administration of Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa for its stance on "Our Ease" of all residents of the state.


The lawmaker in a statement signed by his spokesperson and made available to newsmen in Akure, tasked christians across the world to use the period to re-establish their relationship with God for spiritual growth.


While emphasising the essence of Lenten season a coincident with this year's month of Ramadan, called on worshippers of the two religions to show love to one another,as well as to the needy during,and after two holy months.


According to the lawmaker "As christians observed Ash Wednesday, a pre-lenten programme yesterday I urge christians in Nigeria to pray for the county

You know,once there's abundance of peace, unity in a certain entity,then progress follows

It is a clarion call for both the christians and Muslims to use the two seasons to seek the face of God for better Nigeria.

For those of us in Ondo State,let remember to pray for dear state and the new administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa

Lastly, remember the poor,be kind to one another and pray along the renewal of your relationships with God". Hon Ifabiyi advised
