Highlights Government's Efforts on Agriculture in Stemming Food Insecurity

The party chieftain who condemned voters apathy in previous elections, also called for active participation of citizens of Ondo state in politics as the state prepares for its governorship election in coming days.
Fatai Olawale made the plea when the ruling All Progressives Congress in the area drawing the curtain for its wards rally after touring the remaining four political wards,Agbabu, Ore,Odigbo and Ajue wards of Odigbo local government area of the state on Monday.
The ruling party chairman, while addressing APC supporters during the ward tour,charged the people in the area to vote massively for the party's candidate,Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the off-cycle election,adding that high votes cast aggregate from each local government would necessitate greater opportunity from the government.
At the grand finale of Odigbo local government APC's ward tour led by the Director General, Governor Aiyedatiwa Campaign Committee, Makinde Olarewaju, a member of the State House of Assembly representing the area, Hon Ifabiyi Olatunji emphasised the promise of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa at encouraging farmers in farming business in order to stem food insecurity in the state.
The lawmaker explained that since December last year when the governor assumed office after the demise of late Akeredolu has been supportive by priotizing farmers' safety,noting that those in government reserves and their plantations are secured under the administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
While urging farmers,traders and other member publics in Odigbo local council area to play their parts in the coming election, he assured those farming in government reserves to report any suspicious movement claiming to be government official to the appropriate authority.
However, chairman house committee on Governor's Office and Protocol at the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Ifabiyi Olatunji in a remarks, expressed confidence that residents of Odigbo local government would receive governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa with rousing welcome on Wednesday, the lawmaker on behalf of voters in Odigbo council, projected 150,000 votes for the governor comes November 16.
Also at the rally,Mrs Sileola Akingbola the spokesperson to APC women campaign committee reiterated the commitment of the wing in achieving success in the forthcoming governorship election,called on governor Aiyedatiwa to consider women for political appointment if re-elected.
Mrs Sileola commended the governor for the recent appointments rolled out across the eighteen local government areas of the state.
Alhaji Amidu Takuro, the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs in Ondo State tasked APC crusaders to double their efforts in propagating and evangelizing the re-election of governor Aiyedatiwa for the party to secure victory in the slated election.
Alhaji Takuro, further stated that the tasks ahead requires joint efforts of individual member of the ruling party,saying governor Aiyedatiwa if re-elected would strengthens the goodies irrespective of religion diversity and tribal differences.
At the final ward rally,hundreds of PDP members in Ore also defected to APC.
APC stalwarts present at the ward tour grand finale of the party were; the director general Lucky Aiyedatiwa campaign committee in Odigbo Hon Makinde Olarewaju, deputy speaker of the 9th assembĺy, Rt. Iroju Ogundeji,former local government chairman, Prince Olu Falolu,senior special assistant to the governor on union matters Bunmi Olawoye, special assistant on non-indigenes( Hausa) Issa Umar.
Also in attendance include; Ifesowapo Local Council Development Area chairman, Hon Adeolu Akinseyoju, Odigbo council boss Hon Taiwo Adegoroye, senior special adviser to governor Aiyedatiwa on union matters comrade Bola Taiwo, senior special assistant on produce, Michael Bolodeoku, vice chairman of Irepodun Local Council Development Area,Hon Ojo Ayobami, NURTW members, and host other prominent leaders of the party in the area.
