Delves On Essentiality of  Government at the Grassroots in Community Development,Commends Aiyedatiwa's Proficiency 

.....As Farmers Groan, Send Strong Messages to Ondo Governor Over the Abandoned  Asejire-Mile 13 Road, Others 


Irepodun Local Council Development Area chairman, Gbenro Akintolayo, has called for more synergy between government and traditional rulers in Ondo state in order for the people at the grassroots to enjoy the anticipated developments as contained in the outline of any democratic nation.


Hon Akintolayo also assured the people of the council area that the present administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is currently stepping further in beefing up on how security of lives of citizens includiing the farmers to remaim stemmed to enhance adequate food security in the state 


Akintolayo spoke on Tuesday in an interactive session with Olojas and baales in Irepodun LCDA during his interface visit to communities in the area barely twenty hours when he paid a courtesy visit to the regent of Oro town High chief Olashile Adesuyan.


While delving on issues sourrounding the present states of the nation particularly insevurity and infrastructural decadence, Hon Gbenro Akintolayo noted that his familiarization visit became imperative in order to listen to various agitations of the people at the grassroots.


He said since there is proximity of government to the people at the rural areas, through the creation of 33 local council development areas in the state, the state government under the auspices of a proficient governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa would not rest on its oars in extending the dividends of democracy to citizens as required.




Hon Gbenro Akintolayo, however urged community leaders of various villages in the area to obey their jurisdictional boundaries but to foster for peace, unity and developments,adding that steps are ongoing by Ondo State government in addressing the problems of basic and  social amenities affecting suburbs areas of the council.


"It's never a gainsay that the government at the grassroots is local government where people can easily make contact to" 

"It is clear as crystal that 99.9% of residents in this council are predominantly farmers and you need government hands"

"I want ro put it to you, our governor is a listening governor as he is committed to put security of life of every citizen at top gear"

"Insecurity in the country is the architect of lack of food security across the nation" 

"Though my essence of embarking on this tour is to familiarize myself with you as your chairman"

"Our Governor is is ready to set us free from this unprecedented circumstances, it's only called for synergy between the government and its people" Akintolayo maintained 




Earlier, representatives of Ijaw community from Ebijaw ward Mr Sunday Iegere,and Hon Fatai Olusedo who commended the Irepodun LCDA boss, Gbenro Akintolayo for providing an avenue for community engagement,noted he remain the only council chairman to give such opportunity since the creation of Odigbo local government.


Across session of community elders majority of whom were farmers,  however condemned in strong term total neglect of the people living in the area by the state government, called on governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to urgently expedite action by completing the abandoned Asejire/mile 13 road in order to make transit of goods and services more easier.


They also appealed to Ondo State government to consider their children who took part and passed in the ongoing the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and that of the Teaching Service Commission interviews (TESCOM) to be recruited in order yo fill those vacant positions in public primary and secondary institutions in the area.


"At first on behalf of representatives of all communities in the three wards of this LCDA we appreciate you for coming at this crucial time"

"It's very obvious that you might have glanced at some of the problems we're passing through  poor condition of our road here"

"We're taking you as a point of contact to Mr Governor,we are urging him to complete this abandoned project as we always experience difficulties in plying this road during rainy season"

"We've been neglected by in all ways". 

"We want to use this medium to appeal to the state government fix our children who were qualified for teaching job to be recruited into various empty classes".  The people submitted
