It has been revealed that despite the clearance of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa by the APC screening committee, the presidency has decided that the governor will not be picked to fly the party's flag in the governorship election later in the year.
A presidency source, who pleaded not to be named, disclosed that the presidency is 'deeply concerned' about the certificate scandal confronting Aiyedatiwa.
"I can confirm to you that the presidency is deeply concerned about Governor's certificate scandal. The matter was tabled at a recent meeting, and it was agreed that the party cannot afford a repeat of the Bayelsa fiasco. It is giving everyone sleepless nights," the source said.
Speaking further, the source said a body was selected to screen all the documents submitted by all the aspirants. "The body has submitted its report and I can tell you that it looks very bad for the governor."
