Asking DSS, Police to Investigate, Prosecute Offenders
....Demands For Afenifere's Urgent Action to Avert Reprisal Ahead APC Primary
The political organization also called on the Department of State Sevices,DSS, the Nigeria Police Force and other security operatives in the state to conduct thorough investigation and to also prosecute those behind the destruction of Akinterinwa's billboards and other campaign materials in Ore metropolis and other parts of the state to avoid reprisal attacks.
The group made the disclosure through its political analyst, Mr Olalekan Oni while featuring on radio programme recently as monitored by loveleadsnews alleging supporters of governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa who he said were on rampage to destroy other aspirants campaign materials which according to electoral act, punishable.
While urging statesmen in Ondo state including elders of Yoruba sociopolitical group Afenifere led by Pa Rueben Fasoranti to help call Governor Aiyedatiwa and his political thugs to order, Oni in strong term condemned recent attacks on party members including the official car of a state lawmaker representing Okitipupa constituency 1 Chris Aiyebusiwa by this same political dogs, noting that other aspirants can not afford to fold arms and allow things to go out of hands.
According to him: "It has come to our notice that supporters allegedly from governor Aiyedatiwa's camp are still on rampage destroying Hon Wale Akinterinwa's campaign billboards in some parts of this state"
"Mere looking at what's happening in few months ago in Ondo state reasonable citizens of this state should understand that some people or group of persons behind political attacks in the state"
"When you get to Ore in Odigbo local government along Lagos road a billboard with Akinterinwa's campaign still picture was destroyed by people allegedly from governor Aiyedatiwa political camp"
"Where are we going in Ondo where this race shouldn't be a do or die affair within APC"
"We are calling on security agencies in the state including the DSS NSCDC and the police force to investigate this matter to uncloth those behind the destruction of our campaign materials"
"We equally urge leaders in the state and in southwest particularly the Afenifere led by Pa Fasoranti to call Aiyedatiwa and his political dogs to order before this menace degenerate in to reprisal attacks"
Mr Olalekan Oni, however told people of Ondo State and the general public that both the leading aspirant Hon Wale Akinterinwa and his supporters would continue to remain law-abiding citizens urging registered APC members to ensure Akinterinwa get the governorship ticket by canvassing and vote massively for Akinterinwa in the forthcoming April 20 in-house election in the state.
"We supporters of Wale Akinterinwa are law-abiding citizens and we will keep it up"
"I use this medium to beseech our dear registered members to canvass and give their vot3e to Hon Wale Akinterinwa by April 20". Oni appealed
It would be recalled that the group in a statement released by its spokesperson Segun Ajiboye in March this year said that supporters of member of Nigeria Economic Council, Wale Akinterinwa was attacked by hoodlums allegedly from governor Aiyedatiwa camp during the visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Ondo
