As University Don Emphasizes Importance of Health Institution In Nation-Building

The Vice chancellor,University of Medical Sciences Ondo city, Professor Adesegun Fatusi, has said that the institution would not leave any stone unturned in making students and staff in the health institution a top priority as it is pivotal to healthy living of citizens.
The UNIMED Don also emphasized the need for Ondo State government to secure additional favourable atmosphere cum trained experts especially as Nigerian doctors currenttly absconding from the country in search for greener pastures in order to mitigate japa syndrome in health sector of the country.
Professor Fatusi stated this while receiving members of Ondo State House of Assembly committee on public accounts for oversight function at the institution in Ondo.
Commending the state government led by late governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN,CON for making construction of some faculties including the faculty of health rehabilitation a reality noted that the said institution is expecting more attentions especially in learning cum adequate staff welfarism for general efficiency.

In his reaction,the state house of assembly committee on public accounts at Ondo State House of Assembly led by its chairman, Hon Ifabiyi Olatunji noted that the essence of the visit is to explicit the pictographs of government projects rather than on paper for transparency and accountability purposes.
He said the committee would not rest on its oars in ensuring that all state government institutions were provided with necessary assistance but it is imperative for individual citizens includiing private sectors to reciprocate same by paying tax and other legitimate levies at when due.
Ifabiyi commended the vice chancellor of the state-owned UNIMED for assisting the institution to forge ahead amidst the current economic reality,adding that the state parliament would continue to intermediate relationships between the stste government and stakeholders of the university for better service delivery.
